Accessibility

Miette Hot Springs has wheelchair-accessible restrooms and changing rooms and a ramp descending into the pool with a railing. Several trails, scenic viewpoints, and day-use areas are paved. Whistlers Campground has two paved sites, each with adapted picnic tables and fireboxes. Ask for a key at the kiosk for wheelchair-accessible showers. Other campgrounds have various facilities for disabled access.

Admission Fees and Permits

A park entrance pass is C$9.80 per person or C$19.60 maximum per vehicle per day. Larger buses and vans pay a group rate. An annual pass costs $67.70 per adult or $136.40 per family or group.

Permits, obtained from the park's information center (780/852-6177) are required for backcountry camping (C$9.80 per day), campfires (C$8.80 per day), using dumping stations (C$8.80 per day), and fishing (C$9.80 per day).

The park is open 24/7, year-round. It is in the mountain time zone.

ATMs/Currency Exchange

There are four banks with ATM and currency exchange service and plenty of private ATMs in Jasper Townsite. Whistlers Inn also has a currency exchange service and an ATM.

Jasper Tire and Auto. Licensed technicians offer automobile service and repairs at Jasper Tire and Auto, which is located in the industrial park and is the main service station in the townsite. 44 Stan Wright Industrial, Jasper, AB, T0E 1E0. 780/852-5561.

Cell-Phone Reception

Cell phones generally only work in and around the town of Jasper. Look in Jasper Townsite, at the information center, outside the Robinsons AG Foods Store, by the Shell gas station, next to Super A Foods, and inside hotels. Also at the Icefields Centre, along some roadways, and at major sites such as Athabasca Falls, Sunwapta Falls, and Mt. Christie picnic area.
