Penticton and Naramata

Penticton, with its long sandy beach backed by motels and cruising pickup trucks, is a nostalgia-inducing family-vacation spot. Drive through the city center to the east side of Okanagan Lake, though, and you'll be in the heart of the burgeoning Naramata wine country. The route along the Naramata Benchlands is peppered with one winery after another, so the seemingly short drive could take all afternoon.
