Pintxo

$$, Spanish, Plateau Mont-Royal

Fodor's Review:

You don't dine at Pintxo -- you graze. And what a lovely pasture it is, too, with bare brick walls, white tablecloths, and waiters in Lacoste shirts and expensive jeans. Pintxos (pronounced "pinchos") are the Basque version of tapas, tiny two-bite solutions to the hunger problem, best enjoyed with a good beer or a glass of chilled sherry. There are about 15 of them on the menu every night, ranging from tiny stacks of grilled vegetables to more substantial dishes, such as seared scallops with black olives and tuna fillets with ratatouille. If creating your dinner one bite at a time doesn't appeal, there are more normal-size dishes on the menu, such as beef cheeks braised in wine and panfried fish with leeks and artichokes.
