In a residential neighborhood known as Shaughnessy Village, Hôtel du Fort is close to shopping at the Faubourg Ste-Catherine and Square Westmount and just around the corner from the Canadian Center for Architecture. All rooms here have good views of the city, the river, or the mountain. Wood furniture and pleasantly plump sofas fill the large, airy rooms, which have spacious bathrooms. Breakfast is served in a charming lounge. Pros: quiet building, big rooms. Con: off the beaten path, near a seedy section of rue Ste-Catherine.

hotel very basic, even a little dingy so wouldn't stay here unless price is everything and even then, not such a good value, as it's not near anything. Still in a town of such overpriced hotels, it's a little downscale and calm.
