¢-$, Mont-Royal
Fodor's Review:
The university's student housing accepts visitors from early May to mid-August. Rooms are simple but clean and well maintained. It's on the opposite side of Mont-Royal from downtown and Vieux-Montréal, but next to the Edouard-Montpetit Métro station. You have access to the university's extensive pool and gym facilities for C$7 a day. Pros: great athletic facilities for a nominal fee; easy access to Mont-Royal and the Oratoire St-Joseph; good opportunity to practice French. Cons: spartan rooms; remote from downtown; largely French unilingual staff.
