You'll have to go a long way to find a better butter brioche -- and try saying that three times quickly -- than the one at the Brioche Lyonnaise. Order one along with a steaming bowl of café-au-lait (please don't call it a latte -- not here), and you've got a breakfast fit for a king. Come back in the afternoon to try one of the butter-and-cream-loaded pastries in the display case. Heartier fare is available at lunch and dinner, and the place stays open until midnight. The atrium in the back and a terrasse are open when the weather is nice.

I found this little gem when I was visiting Montreal (from Upstate NY) with my friend back in June of 2004 and revisited it (with gusto!) when I was there with my boyfriend last year (2007). I've only had breakfast, but it's wonderful. Their cafe au lait is amazing and will make you want several more. You can get a very filling and delicious breakfast for a reasonable price.
If you are there in the summer, try to sit on the terrace in the back. It's like being transported to another world! Also, try the brioche... it's sweet and melts in your mouth. Mmmmm...

This is a fantastic place to eat, it has fantastic deserts. Chocolate, lovely baked goods and wonderful ice cream. Try the Panini's!
