Marine Atlantic operates a car ferry from North Sydney, Nova Scotia, to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland (crossing time is six hours), and, from June through September, from North Sydney to Argentia (crossing time 12 to 14 hours). To explore the south coast of Labrador, catch the ferry at St. Barbe on Route 430 in Newfoundland to Blanc Sablon, Québec. From here you can drive to Cartwright along Route 510. Tourism Newfoundland and Labrador has ferry schedules. Canadian Sailing Expeditions offers week-long sailing trips aboard tall ships up the Northern Peninsula. Coastal Labrador Marine Services takes passengers to smaller communities in Labrador.
