Taboo Resort, Golf and Spa Review

A magnificent 1,000-acre landscape of rocky outcrops and evergreen trees typical of the Muskoka region surrounds this alpine lodge-style, ultra-lux resort. All kinds of activities are available, from a golf course that's rated top 100 by ScoreGolf, to mountain biking. The resort borders Lake Muskoka; guests enjoy boat rentals from canoes and kayaks to small powerboats. The Signature rooms, Platinum suites and Cottage Chalets have a sleek design with walnut-wood furnishings, while the more basic Classic and Deluxe rooms are more traditional in design. Every room has a private balcony, most with forest and lake views, and more than half have a gas or wood fireplace. Relax at the spa menu with unique treatments like a cranberry-maple body polish. Dine while watching the sunset at the überchic Elements ($$$$); grab a light snack and sip cocktails at the modern Lobby Lounge, with amazing lake views; and or enjoy the breeze while dining alfresco at the Boathouse Bar & Grill, open in the summer months. Spoil yourself with the fun, relaxation, and food offered here.
