Czehoski

Czehoski Review

Creative types who've graduated beyond exclusively working-class beers move on to more sophisticated—but still irreverent—pastures like Czehoski. One of Queen West's coolest restaurant/bars was shaped from a former Czech-Polish butcher shop, and the deli counter inside is now the first-floor bar. On three levels, Czehoski is a carefully orchestrated mix of polished brass, splintery wood, and tongue-in-cheek "objets d'art" like rows of Jameson bottles. It's a full-scale restaurant, but mid-afternoon and late nights are popular with the drinks-only crowd. The tucked-away second-story patio of wooden benches and umbrellas is charming but gets crowded. Drinks and food cater to discerning and adventurous palates.
