Olive + Gourmando Review
Successful hipsters arrive at lunchtime en masse to wait for a table at this bustling bakery and sandwich shop. Owners Dyan Solomon and Éric Girard have a romantic backstory straight out of a movie: they fell in love while working the bread ovens at upscale Toqué! before going out on their own. Fittingly, movie stars like Jake Gyllenhaal, Kirsten Dunst, and musician Bono have been spotted here nibbling paninis, sour cherry ginger scones, chocolate brioches, and foccacia bread. Fresh crab is flown in for salads, while organic farmers supply heirloom tomatoes. Wait for a seat, then order your sandwiches at the back; and get your pastries at the side counter.
