Alan Gardens Bed & Breakfast

Fodor's Review:

The mother-daughter team who operate this comfortable B&B have lived in the heart of the city for the past 30-plus years and are excellent ambassadors of all things Toronto. Their quiet, century-old home is tucked into the city's historical Cabbagetown neighborhood. The high ceilings and elegant, professionally decorated rooms have contemporary, cozy furnishings and include Internet access. The large breakfasts (with recipes to take away) treat guests to home cooking in a luxurious setting. Pros: owners very amiable, privacy within intimate surroundings, ideal for architecture buffs. Cons: panhandlers prevalent in this neighborhood, streetcar or taxi ride to shopping and entertainment areas, must reserve far in advance due to limited rooms.
