Fodor's Review:

It's surprising how many people hunger for pasta primavera or a bagel melt at 3 AM. Luckily, such cravings can be indulged at this 24-hour haven for the hip and hungry. Everything is homemade and comes with a green salad. Soups like Moroccan lentil and vegetarian chili are delicious. The dinner-size sandwiches (grilled honey-and-herb chicken breast, for example) are huge. All three floors here are chic and trendy.

Great day ruined by bad service and bad food

Posted by Tezuka from Toronto on 10/2/07
My friends and I just finished watching a movie at Varsity theatre and were starved. The three of us have been meaning to try this place out, so we decided to try it. We got in at about 7:00pm and it was a little busy. We waited a couple of minutes before getting in. Seated on the second floor, my friends and I selected our food. We had a hard time getting the attention of our waitress. We weren't asked to order until 15 minutes later! I ordered Penne Chicken and my friends ordered Pesto Pizza and Lasagna. We all ordered drinks from the bar and they were really watered down - not a lot of alcohol content. The pizza was simple and boring. There wasn't a lot of flavour. The crust was very burnt and the top was oily. The penne chicken was gross - the sauce was very thin. The Lasagna had very very little meat and veggies and was mostly pasta. What a disappointment. Take my word for it - 7 West Cafe is not worth visiting.
