Fodor's Review:
This 1920 Arts and Crafts house with its private, sunny garden, is handy to North Shore hiking and skiing, but just 15 to 30 minutes from downtown. Furnished with a low-key, eclectic arrangement of antiques, art deco touches, local art, and treasures gathered on the hosts' travels, each room has its own charm: Under the Apple Tree, with its private patio, gas fireplace, and air-jet tub, is a romantic choice; Mulberry Peek, an octagonal tower room, has four walls of windows and a private balcony; Pages, the former library, has a cast-iron pedestal tub and book-lined walls. Pros: Personal style of genuine hospitality, attention to detail, free afternoon tea. Cons: Away from the crowds; need a car to get here and to explore.
