This 1905 registered historic building four blocks from the Inner Harbour is one of Victoria's most faithfully restored Edwardian mansions. Though the rooms and suites all have antique furniture, mahogany floors, stained-glass windows, Ralph Lauren fabrics, and period details, each also has a unique look; one room even includes an Edwardian wooden canopied tub. Three-course breakfasts and afternoon tea and sherry in the conservatory or around the library fire complete the English country-manor experience. In-room spa services are a nice touch, too. Pros: Luxurious, kid-free, close to the park. Cons: Kids not permitted, several blocks from shopping and dining.
