This plush nine-story hotel gives alpine chic a new twist with warm earth tones and wood interiors, big leather chairs beside the fireplace in the lobby, and amazingly spacious rooms. The bistro-style restaurant is focused around a central fire pit. The luxurious spa has become a destination in itself with its 15 treatment rooms and wide range of massages. Child-friendly amenities include children's programs and pint-size bathrobes. Pros: Amazing spa and service, great restaurants, free village shuttles. Cons: A long walk to popular village restaurants and nightlife.

My husband and I have traveled for years in Europe and the Americas often staying in hotels rated the "best" by various publications. This hotel, in our opinion, offered the most efficient staff as well as the warmest we have ever encountered. Everyone in the hotel had a smile and was gracious with every request. The location was perfect with just a nice stroll to the main village--also close to hiking trails, golf, and the slopes in the winter. Four Seasons Whistler deserves an excellent rating in every category.
