$$$$, Whistler and Blackcomb
Fodor's Review:
This family-friendly fortress, just steps from the Blackcomb ski lifts, is a self-contained, ski-in, ski-out resort-within-a-resort with its own shopping arcade, golf course, and an impressive spa with exotic treatments. The lobby is filled with rustic Canadiana, handmade Mennonite rugs, overstuffed sofas, and a grand fireplace. Standard rooms are comfortably furnished and of average size, and most have mountain views. Rooms and suites on the Entrée Gold floors have fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, and their own concierge and private lounge. Ski and bike storage are convenient. The resort's Wildflower Restaurant serves fine Pacific Northwest fare against stunning mountain views. Pros: Ski-in and ski-out option, shopping and golf on-site. Cons: Bustling with guests and kids, not very intimate.
