Pioneer Bar
Pioneer Bar Review
As far as the locals are concerned, a spot in one of the limited green-and-white-vinyl booths at Pioneer Bar, across from the harbor, is a fine destination. It's vintage Alaska, with hundreds of pictures of local fishing boats, rough-hewn locals clad in Carhartts and XtraTuf boots, occasional live music, and pool tables. Regulars, mostly local fishermen, swear by the submarine sandwiches and hot dogs.
