St. George Tanaq Hotel Review

A national historic landmark, St. George Island's only hotel is a small, rustic building with a dark-wood interior and a mix of modern and vintage furniture. Originally built by the government to house visiting officials, the hotel can accommodate up to 18 guests and is within easy walking distance of fur-seal rookeries. Rooms are sparsely furnished with shared baths. The hotel's shared but renovated kitchen includes everything you'll need to make your own meal—necessary, since the island has no restaurant.
