Edgewater Hotel Review
On a quiet end of Main Street, this corner hotel, first built during the 1898 gold rush, is in its third incarnation (the first two burned down). Two great reasons to stay are the Cellar Steakhouse and Wine Bar, which is first-rate, if not classy, and the Edge Bar and Grill, which offers cheaper eats for breakfast through dinner. The small lobby is adorned with old photos of the hotel's predecessors, giving a feel for the gold-rush era. There is a nice rooftop bar in summer, with a completely different menu from the other restaurants here.
