Performances at this cultural and entertainment complex rotate exhibits frequently, but they typically emphasize contemporary art and artists. You might be able to catch a comical, interactive performance of the long-running "Late Night Catechism," or an installation of modern dance. The acclaimed Scottsdale Arts Festival is held annually here in March.

SMoCA, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, a "museum without walls," is on-site, and there's also a good museum store for unusual jewelry and stationery, posters, and art books. New installations are planned every few months, with an emphasis on contemporary art, architecture, and design. Docent-led tours are conducted on Thursday at 1:30.
