$$, Mexican, Scottsdale
Fodor's Review:
Los Sombreros is in a converted brick home with lovely patio seating and serves dishes not found in typical Mexican restaurants. Start with the smoked salmon tostada: a crisp corn tortilla spread with cream cheese and chipotle chile, then topped with smoked salmon. Entrées include lamb adobo, a shank braised in a piquant sauce of ancho chiles, garlic, and cinnamon. Ice creams are housemade, and the tamal de chocolate is made with Mexican chocolate, sugar, and ground almonds. Los Sombreros also serves the best flan you'll find this side of Mexico City.
