Cottonwood

Cottonwood Review

Perched above town on the site of North America's first chairlift, the Cottonwood restaurant is a veritable institution. The bar is decked out with old wooden skis, sleds, skates, and photos of Truckee's early days. The dining area serves an ambitious menu—everything from grilled New York strip steak to baby back short ribs with Cajun spices to butternut squash enchiladas, plus fresh-baked breads and desserts—but people come here mainly for the atmosphere and hilltop views.
