Greystone Mansion Review

L.A.'s answer to the châteaus of Europe, this 1927 neo-Gothic mansion was owned by oilman Edward Doheny (Doheny Drive is named after him). Now owned by the city of Beverly Hills, it sits on 18½ landscaped acres and has been used in such films as The Witches of Eastwick, Indecent Proposal, andThere Will Be Blood. Guided tours of the mansion are available and the gardens are open for self-guided tours where you can get an idea of the exquisite interior by peeking through the windows. Also, look for their in-house murder-mystery drama that plays up the mansions dramatic history. Sporadically, concerts are held in the mansion's courtyard on summer afternoons. The grounds close for period special events; call to check hours prior to your visit during these months.
