Los Angeles Sights

Dolby Theatre Review

Taking a half-hour tour of the theater that hosts the Academy Awards isn't cheap, but it's a worthwhile expense for movie buffs who just can't get enough insider information.

Tour guides share plenty of behind-the-scenes tidbits about Oscar ceremonies as they take you through the theater. You'll get to step into the VIP lounge, where celebrities mingle on the big night, and get a bird's-eye view from the balcony seating.

The interior design was inspired by European opera houses, but underneath all the trimmings, the space has one of the finest technical systems in the world.

If you aren't one of the lucky few with a ticket to the Oscars, get a glimpse of the inside by attending a performance of Cirque du Soleil's long-running Iris, a musical and acrobatic tour of cinematic history.
