$$$$, West Hollywood
Fodor's Review:
If you're in town to cut your new hit single, you'll appreciate the two on-site recording studios here. Many a rocker has called the Sunset Marquis home -- check out their oversize portraits lining the walls of the hotel's exclusive Bar 1200. But even the musically challenged will appreciate this property on a quiet cul-de-sac just off the Sunset Strip. Suites and ultraprivate villas, which are set amid lush gardens, are roomy and plush (ultrasuede bed throws and flat-screen TVs abound). Windows are as soundproof as they come; blackout curtains ensure total serenity. Twelve new villas are lavish with extras: kitchens, fireplaces, room-sized bathrooms and on-call butlers available to handle everything from unpacking to booking spa appointments. A new indoor/outdoor restaurant is a potted-palm filled oasis just steps from the frenzied Strip.
