Le Merigot Beach Hotel & Spa

Fodor's Review:
Steps from Santa Monica's expansive beach, Le Merigot caters to a corporate clientele (it's a JW Marriott property). Upper floors have panoramic views of the Santa Monica Pier and the Pacific; many rooms have terraces. The contemporary rooms have feather beds and Frette linens, and bathrooms come with playful bath toys and votive candles. Expect a seashell (not chocolate) at turndown. A checkerboard slate courtyard, including a pool, cabanas, fountains, and outdoor living room, is the center of activity. You can book a massage at the spa for a true attitude adjustment, or dine in French country style at the comfortable Cézanne restaurant.

For my money, this is a good bet in Santa Monica. The service was first-rate, if the rooms were only a little nicer than the average business hotel. Very nice boutique hotel, with a lovely, terraced pool/bar patio area.. We walked through the Lowe's, Shutters and Casa Del Mar, and the Casa is the only other place I'd recommend. (And probably above Le Merigot, if it weren't a good bit more expensive.)Santa Monica's The Best Part Of LA

Large hotel, situated a short walk from the beach with great views of the beach and the Santa Monica Pier. A snack on the patio was great and the pool looks nice. Our 5th floor room had a great view of the beach from our large corner balcony.
