The Redbury Review

In the heart of Hollywood's nightlife, near the intersection of Hollywood and Vine, the Redbury's dark hues and suites (the smallest is 750 square feet) are designed to appeal to everyone's inner Bohemian. Paisley-patterned wallpaper, vibrant Persian rugs, vintage rock posters, and fun toys like record players and vinyl liven up the loft-like "flats," which come with mini-kitchens. A long maple counter doubles as workspace. Blue-tiled bathrooms have a glass-walled shower and rain shower head. Every room has a balcony; top floors overlooking the inner courtyard are quietest. The staff is amiable, and guests get VIP access to hot spots like the Colony and Hyde Lounge. Cleo, the hotel's glam restaurant, has an open kitchen, crowd-pleasing Mediterranean cusisine, and talented mixologists.

Bohemian Chic
Most hotels in Tinseltown lean toward glitz and glamour. The Redbury, though, is decidedly more homey and bohemian, with apartment-style rooms that are ideal for weeklong or extended stays. Hotelier Sam Nazarian tapped photographer Matthew Rolston to create the Parisian-meets-Moroccan aesthetic, translated as a mélange of paisley, ikat, and crimson red in the 750-square foot "flats." We love the throwback touches like turntables and the convenience of a kitchenette for morning tea. Or head downstairs to Cleo, the hotel's Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, where the tagines, flatbreads, and falafel more than live up to the hype.
