Carneros Inn Review

Freestanding board-and-batten cottages with rocking chairs on each porch are simultaneously rustic and chic at this luxurious property. The cottages are flooded with natural light, with French doors leading to private gardens, some with fire pits and outdoor soaking tubs. Wood-burning fireplaces, ethereal beds topped with Italian linens and pristine down comforters, and spacious bathrooms with heated slate floors and large indoor-outdoor showers may make it difficult to summon the will to head to the infinity swimming pool and hot tub. The Hilltop dining room, with views of the neighboring vineyards, is open to guests only for breakfast and lunch from Friday through Sunday, but Boon Fly Café and FARM, the public restaurants, are popular with visitors throughout the Wine Country.

    Beautiful Setting - Lackluster Service

    I agree with the Fodor's write up - the physical plant of this property is spectacular but unfortunately, the service is lack luster - and at times completely lacking. And - guests beware - two of us had cash stolen from our LOCKED room on the first night of our stay - while we went out to dinner. The manager was kind enough to refund our money, but the local police department said that there was an "epidemic" of theft going on at the resort. I am sure this information was not shared with other unsuspecting guests upon check-in.

    Rustic chic - A plus

    Not cheap, but well worth it. Amazingly serene and private. Staff was uber accomodating. Would highly recommend Careneros.
    Spa also great.
    Hilltop dining area had some service kinks - that was our only complaint.

    An amazing escape

    My wife and I came to celebrate a special birthday. From reservations to pre-arrival consierge service to the end our experience at Carneros was wonderful. They even scored us a reservation at the French Laundry! We stayed in a Vineyard Cottage with a full view of the vineyard next door and the hills beyond...just beautiful. We would give it our highest recommendation.
