Fodor's Review:
Small, family-run, unassuming, and utterly charming, Don Chuy serves authentic Mexican cuisine to Southern Californians who, before dining here, may have tasted only a pale version of the real thing. The flavors are savory and convincing, and the portions sufficient to banish hunger until the following day. For something straight from the soul of Mexican home cooking, try the nopales con chorizo y huevos, a scramble of tender cactus leaves, crumbled spicy sausage, and eggs; this is served with piles of rice and beans as well as a warm tortilla and the palate-warming house salsa.
