Fodor's Review:
The sleek, newer branch of the original Karen Krasne's pastry shop near Balboa Park is a few blocks east of India Street, which is Little Italy's main drag. It's more than worth the walk for Paris-perfect cakes, tarts, and incredibly rich pot-de-crème desserts. In a converted commercial space that has won architectural awards and is celebrated for a "Zen-like" atmosphere, Krasne's serves unusual and delicious breakfasts, lunches, and light dinners and specializes in luxuries, such as artisanal cheeses and made-on-premises chocolates and ice creams. The panini sandwiches are creative and filling.

If you go here on the weekend, be prepared to wait in a line that extends out to the sidewalk. Great desserts and tea!!!
