$$-$$$, Mexican, Solana Beach
Fodor's Review:
This casual beach-town eatery offers seasonal Pacific Coast fare that reflects California's Mexican and Asian influences. Lunch in the spacious dining room or sunny patio brings excellent coconut-macadamia nut fried shrimp, a stuffed brie burger with port wine sauce, or perfect fried fish tacos washed down with a Gold Margarita that sings with fresh lime and lemon juice. The funky decor includes a dog motif hidden in the mosaic tile floor and unique objets d'art. Evenings are a scene, as attractive beachy types sip microbrews and well-priced wines, especially during the daily happy hour from 4 to 7 PM. Don't miss the Hawaiian barbecue glazed salmon, lobster tacos, or the coriander crusted ahi tuna with bok choy.
