The Pearl Hotel Review
This previously vintage motel received a makeover, turning it into a retro-chic beach hangout decorated with kitschy lamps and original art by local children. Popular among young couples and solo business travelers, the hotel has guest rooms with only one bed, but they contain amenities like plasma-screen TVs and board games. Each room also comes with its own fishbowl; "Rocky" and "Bruce Lee" are two of the piscine residents. On Wednesday nights, movies are projected on a screen behind the kidney-shaped pool, where hammocks and strong cocktails attract a hip crowd of locals. Staffers have a friendly, enthusiastic vibe.
