L'Auberge Del Mar Resort and Spa Review

A sophisticated beach estate is bright and airy with an outdoor feel, even when you're indoors, and most guest rooms, accented by sea grass-color walls and carpeting, have balconies or patios. Shell sculptures and a collection of art and design books add a personal touch, and flat screens and other amenities abound. Chef Scott Thomas Dolbee, who presides over the hotel's Kitchen 1540 restaurant, gets raves for his whimsical menus, and other restaurants, as well as shops and the beach, are just steps away.
