For Paris-perfect cakes, tarts, and pots-de-crème, not to mention delicious and unusual breakfasts, lunches, and light dinners, head to this branch of Karen Krasne's pastry shop and café, a few blocks east of India Street, which is Little Italy's main drag. The converted commercial space has soaring ceilings and is serene and casual. The shop also sells artisanal cheeses, private-blend teas, and made-on-premises chocolates and ice creams. The panini sandwiches are creative and filling. The original shop is near Balboa Park, at 2929 Fifth Avenue.
