Bencotto

Bencotto Review

The Northern Italian team behind Bencotto opened a fine-dining restaurant in Milan and a bistro called Salumeria Rosi in New York before developing this sophisticated addition to Little Italy. Diners linger over wine and meat platters at the friendly bar and the more intimate upstairs dining room. Small plates designed for sharing include fried saffron risotto balls and sliced cantaloupe with prosciutto, but the real draws are the fresh pastas made daily in-house that include Gorgonzola-filled gnocchi, various ravioli, and squid-ink fettuccine. The pastas can be topped with a choice of sauces and chicken, shrimp, or meatballs. Parking can be challenging but the Little Italy valet service is available after 6 pm.
