The city's biggest deparment store has become so vast by absorbing spaces abdicated by competitors that it stocks just about everything you could want—if you have the patience to find it. The main location, with entrances on Geary, Stockton, and O'Farrell streets, houses the women's, children's, furniture, and housewares departments. With its emphasis on American designers like DKNY and Marc Jacobs, the department for young women stands out. Menswear occupies its own building across Stockton Street. The Union Square views from the Cheesecake Factory's eighth-floor balcony are breathtaking.
