Harbor Court Hotel Review

Exemplary service and a friendly staff earn high marks for this cozy hotel, which overlooks the Embarcadero and is within shouting distance of the Bay Bridge. Guest rooms are tight, but have double sets of soundproof windows and include nice touches such as wall-mounted 27-inch flat-screen TVs. Brightly colored throw pillows adorn beds with 320-thread-count sheets, and tub-showers have curved shower-curtain rods for more elbow room. Some rooms have views of the Bay Bridge and the Ferry Building. Complimentary evening wine and late-night cookies and milk are served in the lounge, where coffee and tea are available mornings. For a fee, hotel guests can use the adjacent YMCA. The lobby has a Wii and other games for guests to play on rainy days.

    Harbor Court Review

Whatever happened to the friendly staff mentioned in the Fodor's review? The staff I have encountered here are either inexperienced, untrained or have an attitude issue. While the location is really nice (close to Ferry Building and financial district) most rooms don't have much of a view and the soundproofed windows of the rooms with a view cannot block out totally the noise of the Embarcadero below. The view of the bay, however, is stunning. My room is so small that I cannot stow my luggage and the closet is already filled with an iron, pillow, laundry bags etc. No safe in room.
