The kid sister of Limón, this cheery but modest dining room outfitted with dark-wood tables and brightened with splashes of yellow, orange, and lime-green is just a 10-minute walk from its busy sibling. The neighborhood is a bit bleak, but the friendly prices and even friendlier staff quickly help you forget the street scene. An order of the crisp-skinned citrus-y chicken, which is typically fresh off the rotisserie, comes with a pair of sauces and a choice of two sides, including rice-and-bean cakes called tacu-tacu, green salad, grilled vegetables, french fries, and yucca fries. The $19.95 whole chicken served family style is good for groups. There are also ceviches, and small hot plates like the jalea, with fried seafood, yucca, and huacatay tartar sauce. You won't go thirsty, either. The list of beverages includes pisco (Peruvian brandy)-based cocktails, wines by the glass, and beers.
