$$$-$$$$, Continental, San Jose
Fodor's Review:
In a city that's gone through numerous changes, Emile's has remained a solidly popular downtown dining spot for decades. The menu, which focuses on European-influenced California cuisine, is given a slightly decadent edge by Swiss chef-owner Emile Mooser: duck à l'orange is flavored with Grand Marnier; spinach salad comes with scallops and a bacon-honey vinaigrette. Half portions allow you to create your own tasting menu.
