The redwood, copper, and cedar elements at the Ventana Inn's restaurant pay tribute to the historic natural setting, while gleaming new fixtures and dining accoutrements place the facility firmly in the 21st century. Chef Truman Jones's seasonal menu showcases meat, fish, and produce—such as rabbit loin, California white sea bass, artichokes, and abalone—grown or caught in California. (Much of the produce comes from the restaurant's organic vegetable garden.) A full slate of regional and international wines complements his dishes. The restaurant is also open for lunch. If the day is sunny, ask for a table on the outdoor terrace and take in the ocean views.
