Half Moon Bay State Beach

Half Moon Bay State Beach Review

This 4-mile stretch of sand is perfect for long walks, kite flying, and picnic lunches, though the 50°F water and dangerous currents make swimming inadvisable. There are three access points, one in Half Moon Bay and two north of town off the highway. To find them, look for road signs that have a picture of footsteps. Amenities: parking (fee); toilets. Best for: solitude; sunset; surfing; walking.
