California Route 66 Museum Review
Fans of the Mother Road (as John Steinbeck dubbed Route 66) will love this museum whose exhibits chronicle the famous highway's history. A book sold here contains a self-guided tour of 11 miles of the old Sagebrush Route from just north of Victorville in Oro Grande to Helendale. The tour passes by icons such as Potapov's Gas and Service Station and the once-rowdy Sagebrush Inn, now a private residence.
