Colorado Cattle Company & Guest Ranch. A real-deal working cattle ranch, the adults-only Cattle Company has 750 head of cattle and 10,000 acres of land in the plains of northeast Colorado. Saddle up with the ranch hands and help with the daily chores, drive cattle for days, and eat meals around the campfire while learning the basics of roping, tying, branding, and cutting. You can participate in a weeklong "cowboy adventure," where guests stay in rustic cabins with private baths and porches. Prices include lodging, meals, and activities. Pros: truly authentic experience, ability to mix cattle work with relaxation. Cons: no kids allowed, authentic experience includes chores.
