Byers-Evans House Museum

Museums / Galleries, Downtown

Fodor's Review:

Sprawling and detailed, red and black, this elaborate Victorian went up in 1883 as the home of Rocky Mountain News publisher William Byers. (He sold it in 1889 to William Evans of the Denver Tramway Company.) Restored to its pre-World War I condition, the historic landmark has occasional exhibitions and regular tours. Its main appeal is the glimpse it provides into Denver's past, specifically 1912 through 1924. The furnishings are those the Evans family acquired over the 80-some years they lived here.
