The dramatic turret and intense rust color of this Richardson Romanesque Victorian mansion built in 1891 is enough to draw you in. Inside are eight elegantly appointed rooms done in varying themes, such as Rocky Mountain, Victorian, and Colonial. The Gold Banner suite is cheerfully yellow, with a separate sitting room and gas-log fireplace, and it, along with other rooms, has a view of the Rockies. Breakfast and afternoon refreshments are included, along with samplings of Colorado wines. Pros: charming hosts, inviting rooms. Cons: walls are thin, place feels remote compared to rest of downtown.
