A cavvy is the pick of a team of horses, and this restaurant is a town favorite. Its coffee-shop atmosphere is enlivened by mirrors, hanging plants, faux-antique chandeliers, and masonry of the 1900s fireplace of the Baker Hotel, which burned down on this spot. Homemade pies and ice cream, burgers, pork chops, and anything deep-fried—try the mesquite-fried chicken—are your best bets. They also serve decent, hearty breakfasts.
