The owners of this hot spot cut their culinary teeth at some of Steamboat's finest restaurants, including Harwig's/L'Apogée. With fieldstone walls, pressed-tin ceilings, and beautiful stained-glass windows, the splendid Victorian building attracts all the attention at first. Then Paul LeBrun's exciting, eclectic dishes arrive. You might feast on elk medallions with a Bing cherry-merlot sauce, or Maine lobster over chili pepper linguine.

Steamboat Restaurant misses the mark..

While the food was good, the poor service by our flighty waitress made it an overall bad experience. I'd heard so much about this place, but it was hard to get over some of the following blunders: our waitress NOT introducing herself OR the specials (there were several), walking away in mid sentence WITH our wine list while we were still considering which bottle we were going with, taking the order for app (although we said we were still thinking about it), my husband's order, and never coming back for mine. When we notified the manager, she didn't describe the specials either....and although at the end of the meal, she offered to buy us dessert, by then, it was too late. Oh, and the waitress never acknowledged her errors...RATING: 3.0
Only eat out one night in Steamboat, Antares is it!

The locals know it as do we after 7 seasons...Antares is the best restaurant in Steamboat. We usually stay in a Condo and cook for ourselves mainly, but we always splurge one night at Antares. Request a table by the fireplace, but be prepared to be warm and dress appropriately. Very Romantic and top notch food to rival the best restaurants anywhere. Groups/Families are well accomodated in the main dining room, as well as the possibility of private groups in a back room.RATING: 4.8
