  Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa Review

  I booked online in January for a March trip. Missed the 72 hour sale by waiting 24 hours to commit - all rooms "at that price" were gone. I settled for winter sale and booked for $299 (the same rate I could have gotten if I booked the day before our arrival).
  
  While there I loved the mountain and the kids' ski school. The motel was just average. The service at the restaurant was bad. The room was totally average - shower curtain, tiny mini fridge, no coffee pot, and small room. I accepted it since we got the winter deal. Then we checked out to find that for two nights (and nothing charged to the room but one $70 breakfast -- yes 2 breakfast buffets and 1 child's pancakes that took forever to arrive for $70) we owed over $1,000. Why?
  
  Because we didn't get the $299 rate we booked and instead were charged $479 per night plus $35 valet per night plus $20 resort fee for water and smores per night plus a $30 Beaver Creek Civic Fee per night. We could not prove that we booked that rate (even though I pulled up Orbitz and showed that I could stay another night (that night) for $299 in our same type of room). Did they really think I booked two months in advance to pay the full rate for their smallest room?
  
  They simply said they weren't allowed to change it. Finally they took 10% off - a whole $94 of the $400 I was being overcharged. I'm still waiting for the call from their "room executive" as promised.
  
  We were worried about weather and came up one night early and stayed at the Westin. It was far better and less money - I recommend that motel in the Beaver Creek area. We Loved Avondale restaurant there, and the rooms were excellent! Fireplace, big mini fridge, coffee pot, microwave, all dishes, silverware, and wine glasses in a cute kitchenette. We also had a little deck of our own at the Westin.
  
  Skip the Park Hyatt (save yourself a lot of money and frustration) - there are too many issues to write and you risk being way over-charged. There are better choices.
