Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk

Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk Review

This 5-acre waterfront center, the cornerstone of the SoNo district, explores the marine life and maritime culture of Long Island Sound. The aquarium's more than 20 habitats include some 1,000 creatures indigenous to the sound. You can see toothy bluefish and sand tiger sharks in the 110,000-gallon Open Ocean Tank, dozens of jellyfish performing their ghostly ballet in "Jellyfish Encounter," stately loggerhead sea turtles, winsome river otters, and happy harbor seals. The center also operates an Environmental Education Center and marine-mammal cruises aboard the Oceanic and has a towering IMAX theater.
