Westend Bistro by Eric Ripert Review

Where else but the Ritz-Carlton Hotel would you find the chef of New York City's award-winning restaurant Le Bernardin? Eric Ripert, directing his former Manhattan star Joe Palma in the kitchen, is wowing the swells of Foggy Bottom with comfort food such as fish burgers with saffron aioli and a salad of local greens gussied up with truffle vinaigrette. Two caveats: side dishes must be ordered à la carte, and the handmade cocktails are a skyscraping $13 per glass. The bourbon-based Scarlet Oak, spiked with homemade sorghum soda, and a tangerine tequila named after the chef are particularly irresistible.
